Welcome!

We greet you from the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, location of the Qualla Boundary and home to the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians.

Living Waters is a Lutheran church serving the Qualla community. Living Waters is a spiritual gathering place for all with healing through the power of Christ in a relationship with a loving and compassionate Creator.

We understand the damage that has happened to Native Peoples in the name of God. This was done through forced acceptance of Christianity along with unnecessary cultural values and practices. The message was to be a Christian you could not keep your Native traditions.

However, a new day is dawning for Native Peoples and Christianity. People are encouraged to be all that the Creator made them. We celebrate diversity as it adds to the richness of our fellowship in Christ and encourage cultural expression in language and music.

We also share the love of Christ to a world which is weary from sin and suffering, and thirsty for new life. Jesus promises the living water which spiritually refreshes and leads to eternal life.

We are glad you came. We invite you to look around to see how the Holy Spirit is at work at Living Waters.

May the Lord bless you and bring you His peace!
